You don’t need me to tell you that the U.S. is a great place to travel.
Beautiful cities, diverse landscapes, and world-class food all mean that you can have an incredible travel experience without dusting off your passport.
However, with 50 states and over 100,000 cities and towns to choose from, deciding where to visit next can be a challenge.
To make things a little easier, Airbnb has released a list of the top 25 places to visit in 2025. Here are the top 5 U.S. destinations that made the cut!
Green Bay, Wisconsin
According to Airbnb data, some destinations in the U.S. are soaring in popularity thanks to major events such as sports tournaments, concerts, and cultural festivals.
Green Bay is one of those destinations.
It’s made the list of top U.S. destinations thanks to the abundance of football fanatics hoping to see the draft, considered one of the biggest events in American sports.
But there’s more to Green Bay than just the football team. Visit the botanical garden or the city’s Bay Beach Amusement Park. This is an old-fashioned funfair that sits right on the coastline.
Admission is completely free of charge, and ride tickets are just 25 cents, with most rides requiring either 1 or 2 tickets. This means that this is also a wonderfully affordable day out for the whole family.
Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston is a fascinating destination with a rich history. Historic landmarks, fascinating architecture, and quaint cobblestone streets all characterize this iconic city.
Charleston has something for everyone. If you’re looking to invoke the Old South, then the architecture and warm welcome here will do that immediately. But its coastal location means you can also enjoy a traditional beach break here.
Explore the Charleston City Market or wander around the Waterfront Park.
If you’re interested in history, then a not-to-be-missed attraction is the Fort Sumter National Monument. This is located in the middle of Charleston Harbor and is only accessible by ferry ride.
You can only book this with Fort Sumter Tours, and tickets cost $37 per person.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Baton Rouge is another destination that’s made the list of things for an iconic event taking place in 2025.
On Friday, February 28, the 38th annual Krewe of Southdowns Parade will take place.
This is an exciting but family-friendly Mardi Gras event where you can experience fun floats, music and dancers, and the excitement of the traditional flambeaux torch bearers.
But Baton Rouge is Louisiana’s state capital and has plenty to offer, no matter when you visit.
Don’t miss the castle-like Old Louisiana State Capitol which has been converted into a museum and National Historic Landmark or the Louisiana State Art and Science Museum.
In fact, if museums are you think then you’ll be spoilt for choice here!
As an added bonus, if you’re traveling on a budget, admission to the Old Louisiana State Capitol building and museum is completely free of charge.
Houston, Texas
Sports fans are driving up interest in Houston, especially in May when its famed baseball team will play Tampa Bay.
However, the city is also attracting interest from performing and visual arts enthusiasts, and Houston boasts attractions for everyone.
A particular highlight is the Space Center Houston. This is a NASA Visitor Center with more than 400 things for visitors to see and do inside. General admission tickets cost $29.95 per adult, with additional charges for tickets that include a Mission Control Tour.
Other attractions not to miss in the city include its Historic District, which is home to a beautiful selection of 19th-century architecture and a host of upscale restaurants.
According to AirBnb, Houston is its most wish-listed city destination for 2025.
Jacksonville, Florida
Florida is a great year-round destination, but it particularly comes into its own with those looking for some winter sun.
Jacksonville is located in the northeast of the state and boasts 22 miles of incredible beaches, and is one of AirBnb’s top destinations for 2025.
Jacksonville boasts more than just beautiful beaches; they are the standout attractions here. The city boasts eclectic neighborhoods where you’ll find an abundance of incredible bars and restaurants.
Looking for attractions for culture vultures? Visit MOSH (The Museum of Science and History) and then head to the buzzing Riverside district, which is home to rows of historic landmark homes.
Each Saturday you can explore the Riverside Arts Market which is packed full of local vendors and artists selling their creations.
